What is alopecia?
Alopecia is a general term for hair loss. Alopecia areata is an autoimmune condition that can cause patchy or more widespread hair loss. Some people experience complete scalp hair loss (alopecia totalis) or hair loss across the body (alopecia universalis). Hair loss varies from person to person, and a healthcare professional can help with medical questions.
Which wig cap is right for you?
Our 5x5 Alopecia Cap wigs feature silicone strips along the sides that can provide extra grip and a comfortable fit, particularly for people with little or no natural hair. Our 13x6 Lace Front wigs have a larger lace area at the front, offering more options for parting and styling. Both types can be worn by people with or without alopecia.
Wig grants and support
In some cases, you may be eligible to apply to your municipality for funding towards a wig, especially in cases of permanent hair loss. Eligibility and the amount are assessed individually.
